Drive the back roads of rural America and you will get a glimpse of America's agricultural past. You will still see farms, both small and big, dotting the landscape. From a distance, most farms are easily identified by their barns. To this day, the barn is the most recognizable building and the hub of activity for a farm. Some of America's barns have been providing their services to the farmer season after season for well over 100 years.
Barns have become a type of barometer for the farming way of life. The condition of the barn seems to reflect the condition of the farm. When a farm is no longer being worked, the barn seems to be the first building to show the signs that let everyone know that the farming has ceased. Barns are usually torn down to make way for redevelopment of the land or just left to deteriorate. This is when Winslow Hill Woodworks comes to the rescue of the barns.
The goal of Winslow Hill Woodworks is to recover the wood from deteriorating barns and give it new life as custom furniture and accessories. Using wood that has been serving farmers and America for the past 100 years will help to keep history alive, and serve our customers as well, for the next 100 years.
